Early bomb fest in Arizona.
Eugenio Suarez, one of the top names on the market this MLB trade deadline took over the lead in home runs in the National League.
The Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman came into the game one back of Shohei Ohtaini. In the first inning, Suarez went deep to left field to give Arizona a quick 3-0 lead over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Diamondbacks added two more in the second inning, before Suarez hit a solo shot in the third inning to take the lead with 33.

It was a rough start to the second half of the season for Sonny Gray. The right hander allowed 11 hits and seven earned runs through three innings of the game, and Arizona led the way 8-0 before anyone was out in the bottom of the fourth.

It was the first time Suarez went deep since July 12 at the Angels. He also went deep twice in that game.
The 34 year old has hit 30+ in every season since 2018 with the exception of 2020 and 2023. In the 2023 season, he blasted 22. Last season, he smashed 30.
