Dean Wade has been rumored as a potential fit for the Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are in the market for key depth moves this offseason. They’ve already added D’Angelo Russell, and brought in the first overall pick in the NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg. Now, they’ll look to bolster their depth even further.
A name that has come up recently in connection with the Mavericks is Cleveland Cavaliers sharpshooter Dean Wade. Sam Amico of Hoops Wire reported that the Mavericks, along with the Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards have expressed interest in Wade.
Wade has spent his entire six-season career with the Cavaliers. For his career, he is averaging 5.2 points per game and shooting 37 percent from three-point range. This past season, he averaged 5.4 points and knocked down 36 percent of his threes.
Wade would solely be a depth move for the Mavericks given their loaded frontcourt that includes Flagg, Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, P.J. Washington, and Daniel Gafford. However, having one of the league’s best shooters as a depth piece off the bench is a luxury to have.
The Mavericks are set up nicely to be contenders in the Western Conference despite trading away Luka Doncic last season, and they’ll certainly take any help they can get as they look to deepen their team further.
