We reported on the list of 7 players that the Athletic claimed were Chelsea’s priorities to sell in the remainder of this summer window.

Not included on that list was Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – but according to reports from the Sun, Chelsea are getting interest from West Ham and Everton.

The Blues paid £30m from Leicester a year ago, and would apparently let him go for a fee somewhere in that region now.

Both West Ham and Everton apparently considered Dewsbury-Hall in January, and could yet come back in for him. Fulham are also linked. Given he’s unlikely to ever be a first team regular at Chelsea, that seems like a good level for him.

He could be a really important player for a mid-table team.

Dewsbury-Hall future remains in limbo – could go either way

Now Enzo Maresca has always been a fan of the midfielder – he managed him at Leicester, appeared to be behind his move to Chelsea, then used him pretty regularly as a squad player and backup. KDH kept that role at the Club World Cup, even with more midfielders added to the group.

By that logic, the 26 year old should be sticking around. But there’s no doubt that he’s not got the ceiling of an elite player that some others do, and once Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo are fit and settled to join Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia in the middle of the pitch, opportunities could be limited for Dewsbury-Hall.

If he pushes to go, Chelsea won’t stop him, and if solid offers come in, we think they’d be happy to encourage him to go. Equally, there seems to be no rush to get him out. This one could still go either way.
