Gainbridge Fieldhouse is set to buzz this weekend as the WNBA celebrates its midseason showcase, hosting the AT&T WNBA All-Star Weekend for the first time in Indiana Fever history.
Friday’s slate opens with the Kia Skills Challenge and the WNBA STARRY 3-Point Contest, followed by Saturday night’s All-Star Game at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
First‐time captains Caitlin Clark of the Fever and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx drafted their rosters on July 8, with each team selecting four starters and six reserves from a blended pool of veteran stars and rising talent.
Despite her selection as a starter on Team Clark, Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally officially withdrew from All-Star activities on Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
With Sabally sidelined, the WNBA commissioner’s office and the All-Star selection committee turned to Atlanta Dream standout Brionna Jones to fill the open slot on Team Clark.

This season with the Dream, Jones has averaged 13.4 points, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and a team-best 7.8 rebounds per game across 22 games, shooting 51.6% from the field and helping Atlanta to a 13-9 overall record, good for second place in the Eastern Conference.
Drafted eighth overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft, this is now Jones' fourth All-Star nod and first as a member of the Dream.
Spending her first eight seasons with the Connecticut Sun, Jones won Most Improved Player of the Year in 2021 and Sixth Player of the Year in 2022. In 2022, she averaged 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 25.1 minutes per game coming off the bench.
Team Clark’s original starting five featured Clark herself alongside Fever teammate Aliyah Boston, New York’s Sabrina Ionescu, Las Vegas’s A’ja Wilson and Phoenix’s Sabally.
Team Collier’s core included Collier, Breanna Stewart of New York, Allisha Gray of Atlanta, Seattle’s Nneka Ogwumike and Dallas rookie sensation Paige Bueckers.
Now with both Clark (groin) and Sabally (ankle) out with injury, Team Clark's roster already looks much different than it did just a few days ago.
