With just over 100 days until the start of the 2025-'26 season, Missouri men's basketball head coach Dennis Gates revealed his team captains on Thursday.

Gates bestowed the honor upon senior guard-forward Mark Mitchell and junior guard Anthony Robinson II.

As a junior, the 6-foot-9, 230-pound Mitchell led the Tigers averaging 13.9 points per game while capturing All-SEC second-team honors as voted on by the media. In 33 games, the former McDonald's All-American also compiled 154 rebounds, 64 assists, 32 steals, and 25 blocks. His best game last season came on February 19 against then No. 4 Alabama, when he dropped a career-high 31 points on 11-of-15 shooting to lead the Tigers to a 110-98 upset of the Crimson Tide at Mizzou Arena.

A Kansas City native, Mitchell played his high school ball at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kan. and originally committed to Duke in 2022. Across two seasons with the Blue Devils, the five-star recruit averaged 10.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Mitchell was among a No. 1 ranked Duke recruiting class that included Dereck Lively II, Dariq Whitehead, Kyle Filipowski, and Tyrese Proctor. He transferred to Mizzou after his sophomore season with Duke.

As a sophomore last season, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Robinson II became just the second Mizzou player in school history to be named to the SEC All-Defensive Team. He ranked fourth on the Tigers averaging 9.0 points per game, and led the team with 114 assists and 67 steals. His 2.03 steal-per-game average ranked second in the league behind Mississippi State's Cameron Matthews and 38th nationally.

A three-star prospect out of Florida State University High School (Tallahassee, Fla.), Robinson was a part of Mizzou's 2023 recruiting class which 247sports.com ranked 36th in the country.

Mitchell, Robinson II and teammates will open the season Monday, November 3 at Howard, before returning to Columbia later in the week for the home opener against Southeast Missouri on November 7.
