Caitlin Clark has quickly become the name on everyone's lips in the WNBA, lighting up arenas and drawing fans like few others. So when news dropped that she won’t be suiting up for the All-Star Game or the 3-point contest, it understandably hit hard for fans and the league itself.
The injury ruling her out sparked immediate reaction online, with emotions running high across the board. But it was Indiana Fever general manager Amber Cox who stepped in with a strong and heartfelt message, making it clear just how much Clark means to her team, the league and the bigger picture.
Cox took to X to react to a statement put out by Clark saying, “We are so proud of #22 and are beyond excited to celebrate Caitlin in her city this weekend.”

Caitlin Clark admitted she was pretty disappointed about missing the All-Star festivities, saying she really wanted to compete in both the 3-point contest and the game itself. But ultimately, she said taking care of her body had to come first.
So what exactly happened to Clark? Caitlin Clark looked visibly frustrated late in the Fever’s win over the Sun, grabbing at her inner thigh after dishing a slick assist to Kelsey Mitchell. Moments later, she walked to the sideline and slammed her head against the stanchion, clearly upset.
She threw a towel over her head on the bench, and it wasn’t long before the team ruled her out of the next game against the New York Liberty. Head coach Stephanie White said Clark tweaked her groin and added the team is doing everything to keep her spirits up through the setback.
