The Golden State Warriors have been named as one of the favorites to land a superstar from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Warriors Named Among Favorites to Land Lakers' Superstar to Pair With Stephen Curry originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It has been a disappointing offseason thus far for the Golden State Warriors as they have not made any moves outside of the NBA draft.
Golden State entered the offseason looking to upgrade their roster around their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green to chase another championship next season.
Instead, the Warriors have been waiting on Jonathan Kuminga to make his decision in free agency, which has cost them multiple free agent targets.
Despite their lack of activity this offseason, Golden State is still expected to make moves after Kuminga’s decision, which could also lead to them adding another key player if they send him to another team via a sign-and-trade.
While the Warriors have been linked to multiple free agents, they have also emerged as a potential landing spot for a Los Angeles Lakers superstar in a possible offseason blockbuster trade.
According to Bovada, the Warriors have the fourth-best odds (+600) to land LeBron James from the Lakers this summer.

The Dallas Mavericks are the favorite (+125) to acquire him and they are followed by the Miami Heat (+500) and Cleveland Cavaliers (+550).
Of course, the Warriors reportedly tried trading for James two seasons ago at the trade deadline but the Lakers were unwilling to move on from him at that time.
That could change this summer as tensions have grown between Los Angeles and James with the Lakers now looking to build for their future around Luka Doncic, whom they acquired last season from Dallas.
For James, he wants to be on a contending team and joining a Warriors team next to Curry would make Golden State one of the favorites to win the title next season, but a trade would be hard to make.
If the Warriors were to trade for James, they would have to include either Green or Butler along with multiple young players, which would significantly hurt their depth.
Due to this, a trade for James is highly unlikely for Golden State but with him being a free agent next summer, watch for the Warriors to go after the future Hall of Famer.
