The Golden State Warriors have not found a resolution to the Jonathan Kuminga situation just yet. Perhaps that can change with the added involvement of a new potential suitor.

Jake Fischer reported on Thursday about the developing circumstances regarding some of the top restricted free agents during this offseason. Kuminga had the spotlight all over him in the write-up.

Fischer highlighted the lack of productivity in the situation has largely been due to financials. Kuminga's return to the Warriors was doubtful due to the contract figure desired by the young forward.

When it comes to the teams circling around the Warriors forward, there were a couple that have remained consistently linked to Kuminga.

Fischer wrote, "Heading into Summer League play, [the] Sacramento [Kings] had seemingly shown the most interest in Kuminga among external suitors. The 22-year-old's camp had also been hopeful, sources say, about a potential sign-and-trade with [the] Chicago [Bulls], but the Bulls have their own ongoing restricted free agency dance to navigate with [Josh] Giddey."

The addition to the Kuminga sweepstakes comes from the Phoenix Suns and their interest. The franchise has reportedly made their intentions about landing the athletic forward clear since moving on from Bradley Beal.

Fischer noted, "Sources say Phoenix, meanwhile, is the latest team to express exploratory interest in a Kuminga sign-and-trade … challenging as it would be for the Suns to make such a deal happen."

The unfortunate part of this for the Warriors is that despite a new team being added to the fold, there was not much optimism about whether something could materialize. Fischer explained the Suns did not have much that Golden State desires.

The NBA insider added, "The Suns, to be clear, do not appear to possess the sort of draft capital or players that Golden State is believed to be seeking in exchange for Kuminga."

With the free agency portion a few weeks into the process, the Warriors remain paused due to this saga. One would hope there is definitive movement in some sort of direction in the near future.
