The Golden State Warriors attempted to upgrade their roster in a big way.

The Golden State Warriors have been quite inactive during free agency, which began over two-and-a-half weeks ago. Fans have been displeased with the lack of moves being made by the organization.

Coming off an impressive late-season push, led by heroics from Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler -- who the club acquired at the trade deadline -- it seemed the Warriors were poised for an aggressive offseason to aim to build a contending roster.

Nearly three weeks into the free agency period, and it's been crickets in the Bay Area.

Now, the restricted free agency of Jonathan Kuminga has held Golden State back from making any moves. They might be keen on waiting until they've got the situation with the 22-year-old forward sorted before making any additional signings.

The Warriors reportedly made an offer, albeit at the veteran's minimum, to Bradley Beal as he was expected to be bought out by the Phoenix Suns.

Warriors made calls in attempt to land Celtics guard

There is a level of eagerness to address roster weaknesses around the aging star trio of Curry, Butler and Draymond Green, though. Outside of Beal, they "definitely" made calls to the Boston Celtics regarding Derrick White, according to Jake Fischer.

After seeing Jayson Tatum go down with an Achilles injury, the Celtics were expected to break up their core to save on tax penalties. Even without Tatum's injury, they were likely going to move a player or two. They were down 3-1 to the New York Knicks with a healthy squad.

They traded both Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis early in the offseason. Pundits and fans weren't sure if the Celtics would stop there, and it seems neither did the Warriors, as they attempted to land the impactful two-way guard.

White would have added timely shot-making and hard-nosed defense, slotted in the lineup by Curry and Butler as a prime role player. It would have been an incredible addition, but the Celtics seem to be moving forward with Tatum, White and Jaylen Brown all still on the roster for future contention.
