Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich do not plan to submit another written offer for forward Nick Woltemade unless Bundesliga rivals VfB Stuttgart agree to a personal meeting.

The Bild newspaper reported on Saturday that Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and head of sport Max Eberl had decided on the course of action.

Woltemade's agent, Danny Bachmann, confirmed to dpa on Friday that the Bavarians had offered €55 million ($64 million) for the 23-year-old Germany international. Stuttgart appear to have rejected this.

Media reports suggest the offer included a transfer fee of €50 million plus €5 million in potential bonus payments. Previously, reports said Bayern had made an initial offer of €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses.

Bayern are keen on Woltemade because he can play as a number 10 in the absence of the injured Jamal Musiala, but can also deputize for - and in the future replace - main striker Harry Kane.

Stuttgart chief executive Alexander Wehrle recently stated that they would only sit down with an interested party "if a club has something extraordinary in mind."

Reports say Stuttgart's minimum fee is €65 million.

Woltemade joined VfB Stuttgart last year on a free transfer from Werder Bremen and enjoyed a stellar campaign, culminating in Germany caps and a runner-up medal at the Under-21 Euros.

He is under contract with Stuttgart until June 30, 2028 with no release clause.

Bayern's close-season rebuild has so far failed to yield a major attacking signing despite Musiala's leg break and Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané moving on.

Vincent Kompany's side have been linked in the media with an array of wingers, but little progress has been made.

Defender Jonathan Tah has signed from Bayer Leverkusen and midfielder Tom Bischof from Hoffenheim.
