Darwin Nunez is attracting interest from at least four clubs after Napoli decided to pass on the Liverpool striker in the summer transfer window.

The Italian outfit completed the signing of Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese on loan instead. The deal sees them pay a €9 million loan fee with an obligation to buy for €26m.

The transfer rules out any possibility of Nunez moving to Naples, despite persistent reports linking him with a move to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium as a replacement for the outgoing Victor Osimhen.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to sell the Uruguay international this summer after he started just eight times in the Premier League last season under new manager Arne Slot.

Although Napoli are now out of the picture, there are other potential suitors eyeing up a move for Nunez, according to CaughtOffside.

It is claimed that the “strongest interest” in the forward emanates from Saudi Pro League clubs Al Hilal and Al Nassr. Barcelona and AC Milan are also “weighing up” a move for the 26-year-old.

Nunez won’t come cheaply, though, as Liverpool are “sticking to their asking price” of £60.7m (€70m). He joined the club from Benfica in 2022 for a transfer fee that could reach £85m if add-ons are triggered.

That price tag may put off Barça and Milan, neither of whom are said to have made a “formal approach” for the player. Money would be no object for Al Hilal or Al Nassr, but The Mirror report that Nunez is not keen on moving to Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims that Luis Diaz has informed Liverpool that he would like to join Bayern Munich “if possible”.

Bayern and Diaz have not yet reached a “full agreement” on a deal, although personal terms are not expected to be an issue and he could sign a contract with the German giants until 2029.

Liverpool have already rejected an offer of £58.4m (€67.5m) from Bayern, although the Bavarian club is confident they can get a deal done for £69.2m (€80m). Barcelona remain interested in Diaz but would not be able to register him with La Liga as it currently stands.
