Man United are in talks with Juventus over a potential multi-player exchange that could see Rasmus Hojlund return to Serie A.

The Danish striker who moved to Old Trafford for £72m [$95m] in the summer of 2023 has become a key figure in the negotiations between the two European clubs as both look to restructure their squads.

According to Italian publication Tuttosport, officials from both clubs have quietly reopened discussions about a possible player exchange with Hojlund's move to Turin forming the centerpiece of talks that could involve multiple players.

Multi-player exchange takes shape between Man United and Juventus

Rasmus Hojlund's stint at Old Trafford hasn't gone as planned for the club or the player with his promising start giving way to inconsistency.

United had high hopes for the Danish player after bringing him on board from Atlanta two years ago but he's found it hard to get used to the demands of Premier League.

Hojlund has managed just 26 goals in 95 appearances across all competitions, and that return has raised doubts about his long-term future.

The proposed swap deal could bring Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz to Man United as part of the deal.

While reports indicate Luiz isn't United's top target right now, the club keeps asking for updates on his status showing real interest in the ex-Aston Villa player.

The talks picked up steam during earlier chats about Jadon Sancho, but have now also now grown into discussions about swapping players.

Juventus has also thrown Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic's name into the mix. For United, Vlahovic is an interesting option - a proven goal-getter with Serie A experience and could give them a fix to their attacking problems.

For Juventus, the possible deal fits with their need to even out their wage bill and move on from high-paid players.

The Turin team have been looking for ways to cut down on salaries while staying competitive.

United, on the other hand, might see this as a chance to minimize their losses on Hojlund while possibly getting players who fit better with how they want to play.

While no agreement has been reached the discussions are ongoing.
