Fenerbahce are on the verge of making a significant statement in the transfer market as the Turkish giants finalise deals for Paris Saint-Germain duo Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio, according to Foot Mercato.
Both Skriniar and Asensio have been considered surplus to requirements at PSG, as the former spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce, while the latter only just returned from a six-month loan stint at Aston Villa.
Skriniar was a regular for the Turkish giants as he helped them secure second place in the league, which looks to have earned him a permanent move to Istanbul.
Asensio, meanwhile, enjoyed a decent spell at Villa Park with eight goals in 21 matches, but Villa opted against signing him on a long-term basis.
Formerly of Real Madrid, the winger is now set to work under ex-Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho to bolster his bid for a spot in Spain’s 2026 World Cup squad.
Skriniar and Asensio would take Fenerbahce’s summer arrivals to six following the earlier acquisitions of Sofyan Amrabat, Jhon Duran, Archie Brown and Tarik Cetin.
Fenerbahce have also been recently linked with a move for Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who is, however, also a transfer target for rivals Galatasaray.
The Yellow Canaries are looking to strengthen their squad as much as possible to compete both domestically and in Europe next season, with the Champions League playoffs on the horizon.
Fenerbahce have not featured in Europe’s premier club competition since 2009, but the Super Lig outfit will strongly fancy their chances of ending that run soon.
