Nottingham Forest have entered the race for Bologna winger Dan Ndoye, who is also Napoli’s top target for the summer (h/t journalist Gianluca Di Marzio).
The Partenopei have been locked in talks with Ndoye for several weeks, having sealed a deal for his Bologna team-mate Sam Beukema.
Despite a verbal agreement with the Swiss international, the Partenopei haven’t made any convincing offer to the Rossoblu, who are holding out for €40 million.
After the signing of Dutch winger Noa Lang from PSV Eindhoven, Napoli manager Antonio Conte has earmarked Ndoye as the next potential target to reinforce the attack.
Meanwhile, Forest are looking to hamper Napoli’s plans after agreeing personal terms with Ndoye on a five-year contract.
However, the Premier League outfit haven’t proposed any concrete offer, meaning a two-horse transfer race is on the cards.
Bologna sporting director Marco Di Vaio has insisted that there haven’t been any formidable offers for Ndoye, and they are planning to extend his contract.
The 26-year-old looks ready to take the next big leap in his career after a productive season with the Rossoblu.
He bagged nine goals and six assists in all competitions, including the winning strike in the Coppa Italia final against AC Milan that ended Bologna’s 51-year trophy drought.
Comfortable playing on both flanks, Ndoye is an excellent ball-progressor and dribbler with an impressive work rate.
Forest are on the lookout for a new winger after selling Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United in a £55 million deal.
The Tricky Trees were chasing Belgian winger Johan Bakayoko, who has now joined Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
Liverpool’s Ben Doak and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho are among the options on Forest’s wishlist.
