Watch as Phillie Phanatic parodies viral Astronomer couple at Coldplay concert

After the "Coldplay affair" moment went viral on social media on Friday, the Phillies' mascot got in on the fun.

The "Coldplay concert affair" controversy surrounding Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was everywhere online Thursday, and the Phillies got in on the jokes as they opened the second half of their season.

Video from the Jumbotron at a recent Coldplay concert showed Byron allegedly being caught with Astronomer's HR chief, Kristin Cabot, as the two then hid their faces from cameras. It became arguably the biggest thing on social media on Thursday, launching a wave of jokes, theories, and memes.

So, between innings in Friday's game against the Angels, the Phillies debuted a "Coldplay kiss cam," where they then cut to their mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, re-enacting the moment of Byron's alleged affair being caught on camera at the concert.

Coldplay concert Astronomer CEO video

Video that went viral on Thursday showed Byron, the CEO of Astronomer, allegedly being caught in an affair at a Coldplay concert with his coworker, Cabot. In the video, the two hid their faces immediately after being put on the Jumbotron. 

Just the video posted by X account "Pop Base" alone already has over 143 million views:

Per Axios, Byron and Cabot were put on immediate leave by Astronomer over the viral controversy.

Phillies re-enact Astronomer 'Coldplay couple' with Phanatic

The Phillies got in on the fun of the alleged Astronomer "Coldplay concert affair" with a Jumbotron sequence of their own. 

With Coldplay music playing in the background, the team put on a "Kiss Cam" and cut the cameras to some fans. But that wasn't all, as the Jumbotron then cut to the Phillie Phanatic.

The famed mascot stood behind another Phanatic with a blonde wig on, like Cabot's hair, then re-enacted the viral moment with each mascot hiding their face and scrambling away from the camera.
