Earlier this year, PSG sold Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig, and the Dutch midfielder has quickly drawn interest from several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
According to a past report from Fabrizio Romano, Leipzig paid €80 million for Simons, with €55 million paid up front. The 22-year-old signed a contract through June 2027, and PSG included a sell-on clause in the deal.
With the summer transfer window nearing, speculation around Simons’ future is heating up. CaughtOffside recently reported that Manchester United may now be leading the race to sign him.
However, Bild reports that Simons is still looking for a new club as the window opens. While several Premier League sides—Newcastle among them—remain interested, he’s reportedly not open to a move to northeast England. There are also questions about his attitude, which could give some clubs pause.

Romano reported Friday that Chelsea and Arsenal are among the clubs keeping a close eye on Xavi Simons this summer.
Simons is reportedly ready to leave Leipzig—something that’s been clear since May—and several top Premier League clubs are aware of the situation. However, there haven’t been any bids or formal talks yet. As for Barcelona, Romano notes that there’s nothing concrete at this stage.

Recently, SPORT’s Carlos Monfort reports that Simons wants to return to Barcelona. Deco has already met with his representatives, but a move could be tough to pull off financially.
In a separate report, Bild reported claiming that RB Leipzig signed Simons from PSG in January for €50 million and are looking to make a €20 million profit on the deal.
Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle are all keeping a close eye on the former PSG standout, who recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances last season. It will be interesting to see where Simons ends up, but regardless of where it is, it’s good news for PSG.
