Marist football opens season Aug. 29 vs. New Haven with first night home game since 2022

Marist football has set all kickoff times for 2025, starting with first night home game since 2022 against New Haven.

It's going to be Red Fox Night Out for the Marist University football season opener in 2025.

Marist will host New Haven on Friday, August 29, at Tenney Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. - it will be the Red Foxes' first night game at Tenney since 2022 and first Friday home game since 2010.

New Haven - long an NCAA Division II school - is transitioning to NCAA Division I and has joined the Northeast Conference. The Chargers replace Army, which pulled out of a non-league game at Michie Stadium, replaced by Tarleton State on the same evening.

The entire 2025 schedule has been assigned start times, as announced on Friday. Marist will host Bucknell on Sept. 6 (1 p.m.); San Diego on Oct. 4 (noon); Drake on Oct. 25 (noon); Stetson on Nov. 8 (1 p.m.); and, Davidson on Nov. 15 (noon). Season tickets are $75. Single-game tickets go on sale on Aug. 18.

The Red Foxes take to the road against Wagner on Sept. 13 (1 p.m.); Butler on Sept. 27 (1 p.m.); Penn on Friday, Oct. 10 (7 p.m.); Morehead State on O ct. 18 (2 p.m.); Saint Thomas on Nov. 1 (2 p.m.); and, Presbyterian on Nov. 22 (1 p.m.).

Marist was 1-10 in head coach Mike Willis' first season at the helm in 2024. The Red Foxes lost to Georgetown, Lafayette, Bucknell, Dayton, Davidson, Saint Thomas, San Diego, Valparaiso and Drake before beating Stetson on the road on Nov. 9. Marist closed with a home loss to Presbyterian.
