Arsenal Are Ready To Launch A Move For This Real Madrid Attacker: Decent Option For Arteta?

In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus mentioned that Arsenal are ready to launch a move for Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo this summer. It has been stated that the Gunners are eyeing a €80m move to bring the Brazilian talent to the Emirates Stadium this off-season.

Rodrygo’s Impressive Numbers In Spanish Football

Rodrygo enjoyed a good run of form at the Madrid club recently after he put in a string of impressive performances for them in La Liga. The Brazilian sensation found the back of the net on 14 occasions and earned 11 assists in 54 matches for Real Madrid last season in multiple competitions.

The 24-year-old caught the eye at times in the final third as he averaged 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 37% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo was even accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 85.9% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for the Gunners to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Will Rodrygo Be A Decent Option For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Rodrygo can find some space for himself to get some strikes at goal and has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He is a good dribbler with the ball and can contribute by scoring and creating a lot of important goals for his team.

The Brazilian attacker is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also perform as a left-winger or as a centre-forward if told to do so. He is more than capable of securing a regular first-team place at the North London club next season as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football.

We can expect Rodrygo to add more firepower to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He could even help the Gunners compete for a major trophy over the next few years. At 24, the Brazilian’s best years are ahead of him which makes him a good option for the Gunners to consider in this transfer window.
