Arsenal have officially announced the signing of England international winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
Madueke completed his medical in London shortly after being permitted to leave Chelsea’s Club World Cup camp in the USA before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at the Emirates until 2030.
The deal is worth an initial £48 million, with performance-related add-ons taking the total outlay to £52 million.
“I’m somebody who goes with my gut feeling a lot of the time and I feel like it’s steered me in the right direction so far.” Madueke told Arsenal’s official website on his decision to move to North London.
“So, I don’t think it’s going to be any different here. I think it’s going to be a great success and I’m really happy to be here.”
For Chelsea, the sale marks the end of a short but eventful spell for Madueke, who joined from PSV in 2023 for £29 million and scored 20 goals in 92 appearances across all competitions, the first of which came against Arsenal in January 2023.
Madueke primarily operates as a right winger but is also comfortable on the left, making him a valuable asset who can provide serious cover for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
After finishing as Premier League runners-up in three consecutive seasons, Arsenal have signalled their intent to go one better next season by bolstering their squad.
Following in the footsteps of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard, Madueke is Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer.
He could be joined by two new arrivals in the coming days as Arsenal close in on the acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera from Sporting CP and Valencia respectively.
