Sunderland have reached an agreement with Sassuolo for Armand Laurienté, who is set to undergo his medical with the newly promoted Premier League side, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Sassuolo winger Laurienté is set to join Sunderland on a permanent transfer as the two clubs have reached an agreement over the Frenchman’s transfer fee.
Laurienté’s move to Sunderland is a done deal
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal is done as Laurienté has also agreed to personal terms with the Premier League club.
The latest Serie B MVP will undergo his medical tests over the next few days.
Sassuolo will earn €20m from Laurienté’s sale.
The 26-year-old winger joined Sassuolo from Lorient in 2022 for circa €10m.
Laurienté’s career at Sassuolo
Laurienté scored 31 goals and provided 18 assists in 102 appearances with Sassuolo.
He was the top scorer in Serie B in 2024-25, with 18 goals in 33 games, contributing to the Neroverdi’s return to Serie A after just one season in the second division.
Sassuolo will make their 2025-26 Serie A debut at home against defending champions Napoli on August 23.
