Derek Jeter's kids might already be taking up after his athleticism — and his son has been practicing his famous swing!
The New York Yankees great, 51, tells PEOPLE that his four children — Bella Raine, 7, Story Grey, 6, River Rose, 3, and son Kaius, 2 — have tried their hand at athletics, as his three girls have been introduced to tennis, soccer, swimming and other activities.
As for his youngest, Kaius has been walking around "swinging" everything in his hands, Jeter jokes.
"My son walks around, everything in his hands, he's swinging it, trying to hit someone," Jeter says, while speaking with PEOPLE about his latest BetMGM partnership. "So there's a little bit of violence going on in the house, but I have to try to control that."
Jeter shares his kids with his wife, Hannah Davis Jeter, and as he explains, the older ones are already getting to the point of childhood where they discover which sports are for them.
"The [youngest] are pretty young, but the 7 and 6-year-olds, I would say they're very athletic, but they're really not too interested in playing sports," Jeter says. "They've done swimming, they tried tennis. It was a little too hot in Miami, so [they] didn't like to be outside too much."
"My third, she follows around the big girls. I think a lot of times, kids start playing sports when their friends start playing. So I think it's about that time where it's going to switch where people get interested."

With his daughter Story already playing soccer, Jeter says that he's certainly not opposed to any of his four kids playing sports in the future, largely for the lessons they can take away from them.
"But maybe in the future I want them to play sports. I don't care what sport it is," he says. "I think you learn a lot of life lessons playing sports, so I really do hope that they get into it."
Jeter, who welcomed his youngest with Hannah in May 2023, has long documented his role as a dad online — from getting a little unicorn-face-makeup treatment from his girls to carving some pumpkins with the kids in time for Halloween last year.
Jeter caught up with PEOPLE about his latest team-up with BetMGM this week, which sees The Captain become the company's latest brand ambassador. He stars in the new "Legendary Plays" ad spot and will soon find himself as the face of an exclusive Jeter-themed slot game via BetMGM Casino.
"I come from obviously being a professional athlete, and the integrity of sport is number one. That's first and foremost, but I think their focus on responsible gaming is something that stood out to me," he says. "And they've made so much progress over the years, and you just watch how gaming has really increased the fan interest throughout sports."
