Maybe things are moving in Kuminga's favor.
The long, drawn-out Jonathan Kuminga saga picked up some good news Thursday morning.
There might be another suitor for the talented yet somehow on-the-fringes Warriors forward.
The Phoenix Suns have expressed an interest in a sign-and-trade for Kuminga, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
“Sources say Phoenix, meanwhile, is the latest team to express exploratory interest in a Kuminga sign-and-trade... challenging as it would be for the Suns to make such a deal happen," Fischer writes. "Fresh off completing a buyout of Bradley Beal this week, enabling the Suns to waive-and-stretch the hefty contract possessed by the three-time NBA All-Star guard, they have contacted both Kuminga's representation and the Warriors to make their fondness for the bouncy swingman known.”

It'd be interesting to see how such a deal might look. The Suns got off of Beal in part to get under all the apron and luxury tax lines. Surely, Kuminga would push them back over at least one line, unless they could pull off a really crafty deal.
It's worth a shot for Phoenix, though, which needs to start a new era with Devin Booker at the heart and up-and-coming talent around him.
Kuminga could still turn into one of the best scoring wings in the NBA. It's just not clear the Warriors will allow him to spread those wings. Maybe the Suns will.
