Ishe Samuels-Smith has yet to give the green light to a move to Strasbourg, and is expecting an offer this week according to reports.
The Blues have been busy this summer and have already signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, with more new faces expected.
Another attacker hasn’t been ruled out, whilst Chelsea are also in the market for left sided defender to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Samuels-Smith expecting Strasbourg offer this week
Whilst Chelsea have made some good additions to the squad, there are still areas that need addressing before the season starts.
Perhaps most important is a back-up to Marc Cucurella at left back, given there are currently no other left backs in the squad.
Renato Veiga played that role over the first half of last season, but joined Juventus on loan in January as he wanted to play as a centre back, and is expected to be sold this summer.

Samuels-Smith signed a new contract earlier this year, and had been touted as a possible solution, but it looks like his future could be away from Stamford Bridge.
The teenager has been linked with Strasbourg, and negotiations are thought to be underway over a move to the Ligue 1 outfit.
Chelsea are said to want £8m for the youngster, but Football London have reported Samuels-Smith is yet to give his ok to the move, with his camp expecting an offer this week.
Samuels-Smith is also attracting loan interest from a number of clubs, and it will be interesting to see what decision he makes.
Chelsea interested in Jorrel Hato
Ajax star Jorrel Hato has been earmarked as a target for the Blues, and the 19-year-old appeals because he can play both left back and centre back.

Hato has already made over 100 appearances for Ajax despite being 19, and is also a full Dutch international, so does bring experience.
Chelsea are thought to have held fresh talks over a move, with Ajax believed to be quoting around £60m, but interested clubs are said to think they can get the price down to around £40m.
