WATERTOWN — Two Class B and two Class A teams share the No. 1 ranking in their respective classes in the final South Dakota amateur baseball poll of the season.
The Renner Monarchs and Harrisburg Woodies continue to share the top spot in Class A. The two teams split games and have only one loss apiece.
Winner-Colome lost twice last week and fell from No. 1 in Class B. Dell Rapids PBR and the Canova Gang share the position with the postseason set to arrive soon.

Class B — 1. (Tie) Dell Rapids PBR and Canova Gang; 3. Winner-Colome Pheasants; 4. Garretson BlueJays; 5. Castlewood Ravens; 6. Dell Rapids Mudcats; 7. Milbank Firechiefs; 8. Tabor Bluebirds; 9. Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks; 10. Redfield Dairy Queen. Others receiving votes: Alexandria Angels, Platte Killer Tomatoes and Kimball-White Lake Nationals.
Class A — 1. (Tie) Harrisburg Woodies and Renner Monarchs; 3. Brookings Cubs; 4. Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels; 5. Yankton Lakers. Others receiving votes: Aberdeen Circus, Sioux Falls Brewers.
Oakwood Lakes Trail Run
BRUCE — After switching to a social run in 2024, the eighth Oakwood Lakes Trail Run is back in 2025 as a timed event on Saturday, July 26.
Runners take their marks at 7:30 a.m. at the west lake boat ramp. The 4-mile race will follow the trail system at Oakwood Lakes State Park, which is two miles west of Bruce. There also is an 8-mile option, which will be a second lap around the course, according to race director Andy Carlson.
Runners can pre-register by emailing Carlson at [email protected]. Include name, age, sex, city & state; email and phone number. The fee is $15 if registered prior to race day or $20 from 6:30 to 7;15 a.m. on race day.
Basic snacks and refreshments will be provided at various intervals during the race. All ages are welcome to participate.
A state park entrance ($10/vehicle daily fee) is required. It is strongly recommended purchasing a pass prior to event.
SDGA Golf
RAPID CITY — Jackson Burns of Brandon and Rylan Horning of Rapid City won division in the South Dakota Golf Association-Sanford International Series event that concluded on Tuesday, July 15 at the Meadowbrook Golf Course.
Burns fired a 2-over par 146 (73-73) to win the 42-player boys division by two shots. Horning shot a 9-over 153 (79-74) to win the 10-player girls division by seven shots.
The regular season is over. The top point leaders will gather for the Series Championship at The Country Club of Sioux Falls on Monday, July 28.
