While much of the Indiana Fever’s spotlight remains on Caitlin Clark and her road to recovery, Kelsey Mitchell gave fans something else to cheer for on Wednesday night.

Kelsey Mitchell passes Tamika Catchings for franchise 3-point record

Despite a tough first half against the New York Liberty, Mitchell delivered a milestone moment, etching her name into Fever history. The veteran guard scored 13 points before halftime on 4-of-8 shooting, including two three-pointers. Those shots pushed her past franchise legend Tamika Catchings for the most made three-pointers in Fever history.

Mitchell entered the night with 605 career makes from downtown, just one shy of Catchings’ record of 606. She wasted no time breaking through and now holds the new mark with 607, and counting.

The team proudly acknowledged the achievement on social media, posting, “FRANCHISE RECORD. Kelsey Mitchell has passed Tamika Catchings for the most three-pointers made in franchise history.”

Mitchell didn’t just move up the Fever’s all-time ranks, she’s climbing the WNBA’s overall leaderboard as well. With her performance against the Liberty, she passed Tamika Catchings again, this time to take over the No. 11 spot in league history for three-pointers made.

Next up on that list is Seattle Storm star Jewell Loyd, who currently sits at No. 10 with 610 career threes.

Mitchell was drafted second overall in 2018 and has quietly become one of the league’s most efficient shooters. As the team continues to grow around young stars like Clark and Aliyah Boston, Mitchell remains a steady scoring presence and veteran leader.

Indiana lost the game 98-77 to the Liberty.
