The Australian went off.
The Cleveland Cavaliers couldn't believe their luck when Tyrese Proctor fell to the No. 49 pick in last month's NBA Draft.
The Australian guard by way of Duke was expected to go late in the first round or early in the second round, at the latest.
But there he was, and the Cavs didn't hesitate.
Proctor is showing at Las Vegas Summer League the ability that could, if things break the right way, make him a standout NBA player.
On Wednesday, Proctor dropped 35 points. He got to the line at will, making 9-of-9 foul shots. He also was 11-for-24 from the floor and 4-for-14 from 3.

Proctor put up that many points without even having a crazily efficient shooting night. But his shooting is maybe his best trait, so it could get even better.
With Craig Porter Jr. out injured, the Cavs have to lean on Proctor to do everything at Summer League, and he seems comfortable with that gig.
Once the season rolls around, he'll have to be a role player, but his shooting will come in handy.
And he can learn from two stars in the backcourt in Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland.
If Proctor can take pieces from their games, he can one day grow into a bright light out of the second round.
