Simone Biles is a seven-time ESPY Award winner!

Biles, 28, was named the Best Athlete: Women's Sports at the 2025 ESPY Awards on Wednesday, July 16 at The Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

“Thank you — again,” Biles said with a smile after being presented the award by actress Alison Brie

The U.S. gymnast then thanked ESPN for highlighting women’s sports more often in recent years, before cutting her speech short. It was Biles' second time winning the award for best female athlete, having last done so in 2017. Overall, the U.S. gymnast has won seven ESPY Awards throughout her decorated career.

Earlier in the night, Biles said she was "honored" to receive the ESPY for Best Championship Performance.

“The recognition means more than you guys know," Biles told the audience. "I would like to thank the people who have stood with me on this journey — my teammates, my competitors, my coaches, family and fans who have lifted me up every step of the way. I wouldn't be standing here without all of you.”

Biles added: “Having a strong support system that understands your dreams, who are willing to show up for you, not just when you're winning, but when you're struggling, too, is really important,” Biles said. “My sincere gratitude, appreciation and love to all of you who have stood with me on this magical journey, all the highs, lows, twists and turns along the way.”

The awards followed Biles' triumphant return to the Olympics last summer. In Paris, the gymnast medaled four times, winning three gold medals in vault, all-around and team competition, while also earning a silver medal in the floor routine.

The Spring, Texas native's successful 2023-24 showing was lauded after Biles was last seen on the global stage withdrawing from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with “the twisties” — a phenomenon when a gymnast loses awareness of their space in the air and can become disoriented.

Often recognized as the greatest gymnast of all time, Biles has five moves named after her and is the most decorated gymnast of all time.

The ESPY Awards are airing live on ABC.
