We look at the recent Los Angeles Clippers free agency move. This Clippers-Beal signing should make the rest of the West worried.

The Los Angeles Clippers have quietly had an excellent free agency. While the Clippers' free agency rumors didn’t start with them pursuing any huge names, that all changed Wednesday.

Shams Charania of ESPN just reported that the Clippers are signing 3-time All-Star Bradley Beal.

“BREAKING: Three-time NBA All-Star Bradley Beal has agreed to a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns and plans to join the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option after clearing waivers, Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports told ESPN.”

While most Bradley Beal rumors were linking him to the Clippers, this signing does change the landscape in the Western Conference. While they aren’t comprised of the most consistent players in the NBA, the Clippers' roster is now officially one of the most talented in the Western Conference.

Beal averaged 17 points, 3.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals for the Phoenix Suns last season. He is only a couple of seasons from averaging over 20 points per game on the Wizards, but has recently taken more of a reserve role for the Suns.

Beal is still young and has a lot of offensive production in him. Surround him with what was last season an elite Clippers defense, and he could really thrive.

This Clippers-Beal signing is a home run. They are getting a star-level player for an extremely reasonable contract. He, Harden, Leonard, and John Collins might have been a better core in 2019, but this team still has the potential to do some major damage in the Western Conference playoffs.
