The Los Angeles Sparks are entering the WNBA All-Star break with a 7–14 record, sitting sixth in the Western Conference.
Despite a challenging first half of the season, the team received a boost on Tuesday, when veteran guard Kelsey Plum was officially announced as one of five participants in the 2025 WNBA STARRY 3-Point Contest.
Shortly after the announcement came in, the Sparks’ social media team took to X with a celebratory message: "🗣️ WE GOT OUR SHOOTER! 👌 @Kelseyplum10 will be participating in the 2025 @WNBA Starry 3-Point Contest in Indy this year:"
The contest will take place Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, as part of the league’s All-Star Weekend festivities.

Plum, now in her eighth WNBA season, is making her second career appearance in the 3-Point Contest, having last competed in 2022.
She enters the event tied for second in the league with 50 made three-pointers this season and is shooting 35.0% from beyond the arc.
Her career 3-point percentage stands at 38.6%, already ranking 15th all-time in career 3-pointers made (539).
The 2025 contest field includes Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Allisha Gray (Atlanta Dream), Sonia Citron (Washington Mystics) and Plum.
Gray is the defending champion, while Ionescu won the event in 2023 with a record-setting 37 points in the final round.
Clark, the reigning Rookie of the Year, will make her debut in the contest in front of her home crowd in Indianapolis.
Plum will also suit up for Team Collier in the All-Star Game, marking her fourth consecutive All-Star selection.
