Red Sox Urged to Replace Alex Cora With Current Boston Superstar

Boston Red Sox are urged to replace manager Alex Cora with current team superstar in bold move.

As of now, it doesn't seem like Alex Cora of the Boston Red Sox has anything to worry about regarding his job security. Some suggested earlier in the year that Cora could’ve been canned, and it might have been justifiable.

The Red Sox weren't playing the baseball they had hoped for, and typically, when a team assesses talent as much as Boston does, it falls on its manager.

Boston, however, didn't move on from Cora, and that was the right decision.

However, just like every other coach around Major League Baseball, whether due to retirement or being fired, teams eventually move on from their skippers. When looking at who could replace him one day, NESN recently came up with an intriguing option, noting that Alex Bregman, their star third baseman, might be the best solution.

“With Bregman fully expected to opt out of his current contract and demand a new deal in the realm of $200 million, Boston should be fully prepared to match or even exceed that figure, and here’s why: Bregman would be the perfect successor to Alex Cora as Red Sox manager down the line.

“Bregman’s supreme ability to mentor Boston’s young stars this season (Roman Anthony included) has shown how successful he’d be as a manager. Bregman sleeps, eats, and breathes baseball, and it’s difficult to imagine him not considering becoming manager post-retirement. The thing is, there would be upwards of 29 other teams interested in Bregman’s managerial services were he to make the move,” they wrote.

Now, obviously, a lot would have to fall on what Bregman wants to do with the rest of his life.

Being a manager isn’t easy in Major League Baseball for many reasons, but most of that stems from the fact that managers often spend their days away from their families after their playing days are over.

Outside of that, however, it’s tough to ignore the veteran Bregman has been, as many love him.
