As the WNBA All-Star Weekend gears up to be one of the biggest in league history, one surprising detail still remains unresolved: Caitlin Clark’s participation in a marquee media moment hasn’t been confirmed.
For the first time ever, ABC's "Good Morning America" will broadcast live from the WNBA All-Star festivities in Indianapolis on Friday morning. The two-hour show, anchored on-site by Robin Roberts, will include live interviews with league stars like Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, and Paige Bueckers. But despite her status as one of the biggest draws in women’s sports, Clark’s involvement has yet to be officially locked in.
“Several members of the Indiana Fever are expected to join Roberts,” reports Front Office Sports’ Anni Costabile, “but two-time All-Star Caitlin Clark has not yet been officially confirmed.”
Clark has only played 12 games this season as injuries have disrupted her playing time. When on the court, she's been her usual dominant self, averaging 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 9.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

Clark’s absence would be notable, especially given how much she has elevated the league’s visibility. Last year’s WNBA All-Star Game set a record with 3.4 million viewers, the most watched in league history, largely thanks to Clark’s rise to superstardom. Her selection as a team captain this year, alongside Collier, further cements her influence on the game.
The GMA broadcast is just one of many signs of how much the WNBA All-Star Weekend has grown in recent years. Once a relatively modest midseason event, it has now become a major cultural moment, featuring live music performances, celebrity appearances, and national TV coverage.
ESPN’s Elle Duncan, Chiney Ogwumike, and Andraya Carter will also participate in the Friday broadcast, which will receive significant technical support and planning.
