Giants' former top-100 prospect retires from baseball after 7 seasons, 3.91 ERA

Seth Corry hangs up his cleats.

Seth Corry was never quite the same after the COVID-19 pandemic.

He was a minor league star and a top-100 prospect heading into the 2020 season as part of the San Francisco Giants' organization.

But during the pandemic, he didn't get to throw an inning for a professional baseball team. And afterward, his numbers and prospect outlook were never quite the same.

Corry never did reach the major leagues.

He announced on Instagram that he was retiring from baseball to pursue a career in real estate.

Corry finished his minor league career with a 3.91 ERA.

The lefty was a third-round pick in 2017 out of Lone Peak High School in Utah.

In 2019, he had a 1.76 ERA in 26 starts at Single-A Augusta. That included 172 strikeouts in 122.2 innings.

But as he tried to climb the ladder a little further, Corry couldn't keep his momentum going after the year away.

He'll move onto the next chapter of his life now, with only the most diehard of Giants fans remembering his name.
