Texas A&M running back Le'Veon Moss was arrested early Sunday morning around 1 a.m. for disorderly conduct in College Station. His bond was set at $300, but agreed to appear in court at a future date to forgo the payment. Moss was released on this "personal bond" the same day of his arrest.
As reported by KBTX Media in College Station's Rusty Surett, Moss was witnessed by an officer aggressively "making multiple threats to a bystander." He continued doing so even while those in his party attempted to calm the situation down. When others reportedly attempted to speak to the female he was with, he proceeded "speaking aggressively."
A friend of Moss was also arrested for interfering with the officers taking the running back into custody.
Aggies head coach Mike Elko released a statement Sunday afternoon regarding the program's knowledge of the arrest.
“We are aware of the situation regarding [Moss] and will handle the matter internally,” Elko said to GigEm247's Carter Karels.
The Aggies are the last team scheduled for the SEC Media Days. It's possible that the matter will be mentioned on Thursday. However, it's unlikely that Elko will discuss the situation any further beyond saying that the program will handle it internally.
Moss is the Aggies' starting running back. Elko confirmed that the rising senior is healthy at Coach's Night after recovering from a season-ending leg injury in Nov. 2024. Before his season abruptly ended, he recorded 121 carries for 765 yards and 10 touchdowns. Moss had an additional 10 receptions for 141 yards.
