There's been more intel suggesting Damian Lillard could join the Boston Celtics.

The Boston Celtics have lost a lot this offseason. Because of the NBA's tax aprons, they traded Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis away essentially to save money (and they might not be done). Luke Kornet also left to join the San Antonio Spurs, and all indications are that Al Horford will leave, too.
However, one free agent who has been linked to them is Damian Lillard. After the Milwaukee Bucks waived and stretched Lillard, multiple reports have linked Lillard to Boston.
Lillard is one of the most accomplished players of his era, but he will likely miss the entire season after tearing his Achilles during the 2025 NBA Playoffs. If he joined Boston, he could join Jayson Tatum in his Achilles rehab for the next year.
There continues to be more and more steam regarding Lillard coming to Boston. CelticsBlog's Noa Dalzell reported that people at the Las Vegas Summer League continue to link Lillard to the Celtics.
"Two Celtics takeaways from talking to lots of people here in Las Vegas: Boston appears to be a very viable destination for Damian Lillard," Dalzell wrote.
The other takeaway was that many believe the Celtics should keep Tatum and Jaylen Brown together.

Lillard is coming off a season where he averaged nearly 25 points, 7.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 37.6% from three. He will be 35 on Tuesday, so he is among the older players in the NBA coming off one of the worst injuries an NBA player can suffer.
