Former Minnesota State forward Brett Moravec has signed a one-year deal with the ECHL's Indy Fuel, it was announced Friday.

Moravec, who hails from Airdrie, Alta., just finished his sophomore season with the Mavericks, scoring five goals and adding two assists for seven points in 37 games. In 64 career NCAA games, he collected nine goals and six assists for 15 points.

Before heading to the collegiate level, Moravec played his junior hockey in the AJHL (Okotoks Oilers & Calgary Canucks) and the BCHL (Penticton Vees). Moravec played his minor hockey for Edge School Prep and Airdrie Xtreme.

With Moravec joining the Fuel, he foregoes his remaining years of NCAA eligibility. A hard-working player who can put the puck in the back of the net, Moravec has the chance to be a difference maker for the Fuel right out of the gates.
