Angel Reese comes out with a bold declaration.

Angel Reese was not messing around on Saturday as the Chicago Sky faced a tough test against the league-best Minnesota Lynx. The 23-year-old knew that she needed to come up big against one of the top forwards in the WNBA today in Napheesa Collier, and Reese did just that by putting up another double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, to go along with four assists and two steals.
Collier went off as well, dropping a team-high 26 points with eight boards, five assists, three steals, and three blocks, but in the end, Reese and Co. secured a wire-to-wire victory, 87-81, to hand Minnesota just its fourth loss of the season.
Sky center Kamilla Cardoso turned in an eye-catching performance in this one as well, amassing a monster 17-point, 15-rebound double-double with two assists and two blocks. She, too, played a crucial role as Chicago came out with a statement win against the best team in the WNBA.
Reese sounded off on the victory shortly after the buzzer. Speaking to reporters after the game, Reese could not help but clap back at her early-season critics. In particular, the 23-year-old had a message for those who did not believe in her and Cardoso.
"Big Mil. Not the little one,” Reese said of her frontcourt partner, via Sky reporter Karli Bell. “We took it personal early in the season that people don't think we're the best young frontcourt in the league."
That’s now back-to-back wins for the Sky following Wednesday’s 87-76 win over Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. It’s no coincidence that Cardoso was available for Chicago in both games following her two-week stint at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup with Brazil.
There’s no denying that Reese is one of the top forwards in the league right now, but the fact of the matter is that the Sky are more dangerous with Cardoso in the picture.
As Reese stated, there is no doubt in her mind that she and Cardoso form the best young frontcourt in the league, and they proved just that on Saturday against Minnesota.
