Recent reports that Manchester City prospect Farid Alfa-Ruprecht will be loaned out immediately after joining Bayer Leverkusen are not entirely correct. Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has confirmed that the 19-year-old might feature in the Bundesliga next season. The youngster will receive a chance to prove himself in training camp.
Rolfes told Kickerthat Alfa-Ruprecht could serve as an immediate reinforcement on the wing. Newly appointed head coach Erik ten Hag shall assess whether Alfa-Ruprecht might serve as a replacement for the departed Jeremie Frimpong. A loan isn’t entirely out of the question, but ten Hag will give the teenage talent a solid look first.
Unlike some of the other developmental prospects Leverkusen have procured this summer, the Hamburg-born talent is considered one capable of stepping up to the next level. At present, Nathan Tella is the only player on the Werkself squad with extensive experience at Alfa-Ruprecht’s position.
Once Alfa-Ruprecht’s transfer is confirmed, matters get set to prove most interesting during this summer’s longer training camp at this particular club.
