It's been anything but a quiet offseason for Alabama baseball, and the conversation could grow louder after the 2025 MLB Draft. Here's what to know.
TUSCALOOSA — It's been anything but a quiet offseason for Alabama baseball, and the conversation has the chance to grow louder starting on Sunday.
From Rob Vaughn becoming the Crimson Tide's first baseball coach to make over $1 million to the names he's plucked out of the transfer portal, eyes have stayed on Alabama despite the program's early exit from the NCAA Tournament. Now, those sights are set on the 2025 MLB Draft in Atlanta.
With right-handed pitcher Riley Quick headlining the crew of draft-eligible players, here are the details on how to catch the guys as they wait to hear their names called.

Could Alabama baseball lose any 2026 signees to the draft?
The future of Alabama baseball is bright, but who stays and who goes on Sunday and Monday could dim the outlook. One of the Crimson Tide's most highly-anticipated commits, Eric Hines, could get swept up by a major league organization. The 6-foot-3 local out of American Christian Academy is expected to elevate Alabama's outfield, but his abilities on the mound could supplement the Crimson Tide, too. Graded a 10 by Perfect Game, Hines was also named an All-American by the scouting service.
All of that could change if Hines' looks from professional scouts — or those for potential future teammates like pitcher Myles Upchurch or infielders Caleb Barnett and Ma'Kale Holden — turn into a contract in the coming days.
When is the last time Alabama baseball had a first-round pick?
Only five Alabama baseball players have been taken in the first round, and only one in the Top 10. New York Yankees right-hander Ben Hess is currently pitching in the minors, but he was the No. 26 overall pick in 2024. It had been 18 years since UA had seen a guy go on day one.
Alabama had first-round picks every other year starting in 2002 to 2006. Should Quick go ahead of the second-round, it just might spark the resurgence of the trend. In fact, the 2026 MLB Draft could see Alabama baseball produce consecutive first-round picks for the first time in program history should Justin Lebron get picked up after his junior season.
