The Knicks would certainly give LeBron James ways to make money off the court.
There have always been slight rumors that LeBron James would want to play for the New York Knicks.
Instead, he decided to move to the other side of the country and play for the Los Angeles Lakers, allowing him to play for another storied franchise, in one of the best cities in the world, too.
While New York and Los Angeles both have their own benefits, the cities are completely different.
However, business in Los Angeles is very similar to business in New York, in the sense that there's a lot of money around, and it could entice somebody like James.
When searching for potential ways the Knicks could entice him to request a trade from the Lakers and play in New York, ClutchPoints recently noted that, from a business perspective, this move makes plenty of sense from his standpoint.
"Fifteen years later, New York again finds itself in the mix. This time, though, the stakes are even higher. James is in the twilight of his career, yet remains one of the most impactful players in the league. His connection to coach Brown, who was James’ longest-serving coach during their Cleveland years, only fuels the speculation.
"Business-wise, the move makes sense as well. James has often spoken about life beyond basketball. Few cities offer post-career opportunities like New York. Media, branding, investment, which are things James cares deeply about, are amplified in Manhattan. Basketball-wise, the fit is nearly perfect. A Brunson-James-Anunoby-KAT/Bridges core gives the Knicks a top-five offensive and defensive ceiling,” they wrote.

James could be interested in going to New York for the last year or so of his career and worrying about his business. He already has plenty of money, but the more he has, the better off he’d be for the future, as well as his children.
However, at this stage, it feels safer to say that James is more worried about basketball than business, although New York could possibly give him both.
