The Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga could be nearing an agreement after a recent report.

The Golden State Warriors still have yet to make a free agency move, despite nearly two weeks having passed. Many fans have been displeased by the lack of moves, given the limited time to contend with Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green at the helm.

Jonathan Kuminga, a 22-year-old forward, has spent each of his first four years with the Warriors, though he's currently a restricted free agent. He was the first domino expected to fall for the club this offseason.

Early in free agency, though, it was made clear it would take some time for Kuminga to make a decision -- whether it be re-sign with the Warriors or sign an offer sheet with another team.

Golden State could match an offer sheet the G League Ignite product signs this offseason, regardless of which team it's with.

It doesn't seem that's going to be an important detail, however. The most likely scenario, at this point, is for Kuminga to sign a shorter-term deal with the Warriors and bet on himself as an unrestricted free agent eventually.

According to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel, Golden State and Kuminga are expected to agree on a deal -- with the assumption being the young forward will be dealt by the trade deadline next winter.

Kuminga and his representation, along with the Warriors' front office, are present at Summer League, helping accelerate offseason negotiations.

The 22-year-old has star potential. He was in brilliant form early last season, before suffering an ankle injury that sidelined him for two months.

By the time Kuminga was able to return from his injury, the Warriors had already added Butler alongside Curry, minimizing his role.

While Golden State aims to capture one last title with Curry playing, it's become increasingly clear Kuminga needs a change of scenery to pursue his All-Star potential and aim to become the player he has the chance to be.
