The Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions are viewed as favorites in 2025 to reach the Super Bowl from the NFC. However, one NFL analyst believes a surprise team from down South will represent the conference in the Big Game.
We are just a few weeks from NFL training camps opening and the start of the journey to Super Bowl 60. And the competition in the NFC looks to be stiff in 2025. The defending champion Eagles are sure to be good again. But they will be strongly challenged within their division by an on-the-rise Commanders team and a Cowboys roster that many expect to have a big bounce-back year.

Furthermore, many NFL pundits believe the NFC North is the best division in the league. The Lions, Vikings, and Packers should all be good again. And the Bears could finally take a big leap forward to compete for a playoff spot this season. However, despite all the power up north, The Athletic’s NFL analyst Jacob Robinson believes a certain team from down South will surprise and get to the Super Bowl in February.
“This year’s NFC winner isn’t the Eagles, Lions, or Vikings. Instead, Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers represent the NFC in this year’s Super Bowl,” Robinson responded when asked for a spicy take about the upcoming season.
Many expected Tampa Bay to fall off when Tom Brady retired two years ago. Especially with Mayfield replacing him at quarterback. However, the Bucs have remained competitive and pushed their streak of playoff appearances to five straight last season. By winning the division again with a 10-7 record.
The former Browns QB has had a serious career resurgence in Tampa. And with him at the helm, the Buccaneers’ offense has been one of the most electric over the last two seasons. Plus, now they have a potential stud running back in second-year man Bucky Irving.
If their defense can play just as good, they should be a problem in the NFC next season. The Lions will have to prove they are still as good after losing both of their top two coordinators. And getting back to the Super Bowl is always extremely hard. So the Eagles have a huge challenge ahead.
