How to watch San José State at Texas

Time: 12 p.m. ET
Channel: TBD
Location: Austin, TX

Texas‘ season opener marked the highly-anticipated first start of quarterback Arch Manning. Manning, who opened the year as one of the Heisman favorites, struggled in the loss to Ohio State. He completed 17/30 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

It seemed as if he was en route to leading the Longhorns on a game-tying drive with just over two minutes remaining, but he was unable to hit an open Jack Endries on a 4th & 3 to ensure the Buckeye victory.

Although it lost, Texas outgained Ohio State 336-203 and recorded five more first downs than the Buckeyes. It however opened the season 0-1 and will look to make a statement out of San José State in its home opener.

The Spartans suffered a crushing season-opening loss as well, as they missed two late field goal attempts in the two-point loss. The first field goal attempt from 33-yards was partially blocked by the Chippewas, but the potential game-winner from 56-yards just missed.

Quarterback Walker Eget enjoyed a strong performance in the loss, as he totaled 308 passing yards and two touchdowns. He however tossed two interceptions and will look to sharpen up his accuracy in the massive game against the SEC foe.

Texas has not dropped a home game to an unranked opponent since Nov. 13, 2021 (57-56 OT loss to Kansas).
