The Louisville Cardinals kick off their season as a healthy favorite to start 1-0 for the third consecutive season under head coach Jeff Brohm.

According to FanDuel, the Cardinals are a 38.5-point favorite in their season-opener against in-state foe Eastern Kentucky.

Louisville is 20-8-1 all-time in games against Eastern Kentucky, but has dominated the series since their last loss in 1985. The Cardinals have beaten the Colonels in five consecutive meetings, with all five victories coming by 27 points or more.

Eastern Kentucky has had some success against FBS opponents over the years, with their most recent victory in such a game coming in 2022 when they won a seven overtime thriller against Bowling Green.

Notable fact here: Each of Louisville’s last seven games against non-conference opponents have gone OVER the total points line. FanDuel currently has the over/under for total points in Saturday’s game set at 56.5.

Louisville and Eastern Kentucky will kickoff at 3 p.m. inside L&N Stadium. The ACC Network will have the television coverage.
