Only Dominic DeLuca Until Penn State Football

This is it! Penn State football begins its season TODAY! And what better way to showcase the Nittany Lions than to highlight a player who, through dedication and hard work, earned his way into not only a scholarship, but a starting role with the Lions!

Dom spent his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons playing mostly on special teams, spotting the defense when the starters needed rest. His play on the field earned him more and more playing time, leading to starter-like minutes in 2023. He also earned himself a scholarship in the 2023 season, becoming another in the long line of former Nittany Lion walk-ons to become an integral part of the team.

By 2024, DeLuca was not just getting starter-like minutes, but actually starting. He started in five of Penn State’s 16 games, and appeared in 15 of them. His three interceptions on the season were sixth in the Big Ten, two of which came against SMU in the College Football Playoff first round.

Now, a fully entrenched starter, DeLuca will be part of a starting group with Tony Rojas and Amare Campbell, anchoring the linebacking corps and upholding the Linebacker U tradition.
