Blue & gold rounded up outright predictions for Notre Dame vs. Miami from 19 different national media members spread across a variety of outlets. Ten of them are picking the Hurricanes to knock off the Fighting Irish. Nine of them have the Irish going into Hard Rock Stadium and taking care of business on the road.

At the end, we have nine picks against the spread from staffers of The Athletic.

Here’s a look at who everyone is picking.

On3’s Andy Wasserman and Andy Staples

Staples: Miami
Wasserman: Notre Dame

Josh Pate: Miami

Pate: “I think Miami’s gonna be able to run the ball and I think it’s gonna be a very, very mixed result type of game for CJ Carr and the Notre Dame passing offense,” Pate said. “I’m gonna buy into the intel that we’ve gotten out of Miami about their secondary. Plenty good enough, plenty overhauled enough that I think they give themselves a shot to win here. I think that they are able to take over enough.

“They’re not gonna dominate Notre Dame. I’m saying they’re gonna be able to take over enough and that ground game is able to be effective enough to where Miami covers here and I think Miami’s gonna win the game outright.”

Pro Football Focus: Split decision

Max Chadwick: Miami 24, Notre Dame 23
“It’s hard to get a read on this game considering both offenses have their own question marks with new quarterbacks. Since I know what to expect from Carson Beck and the Hurricanes are at home, I’ll take Miami to win in a game that should go down to the wire.

Dalton Wasserman: Notre Dame 23, Miami 16
“Notre Dame’s defense is the best unit in this game and perhaps the worst matchup for Beck and Miami to face in the Hurricanes’ first game together. If the Fighting Irish can run the ball and limit the need for CJ Carr to come through in big situations, then they will grind out one of their trademark hard-nosed victories.

The Sporting News: Notre Dame 24, Miami 21

Bill Bender: “Notre Dame has lost six straight road games at Miami – the Irish’s last road win in this series was in 1977. C.J. Carr – the five-star recruit and grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr – is on the spot here for Notre Dame. Keep an eye on how the Irish run the ball with Jeremiyah Love against the Hurricanes – which ranked 20th in the FBS in rush defense in 2024. Carson Beck – who was 24-3 as a starter at Georgia – makes his Miami debut, too. Notre Dame is 3-3 S/U on the road against ranked teams under Marcus Freeman. This is going to be a tight finish.”

Bleacher Report: Miami 27, Notre Dame 23

David Kenyon: “This matchup is a battle of two elite offensive lines and two quality defenses. So, do you trust Georgia transfer Carson Beck to elevate Miami in his program debut or believe first-time ND starter CJ Carr can handle a new-look defense? I’ll lean toward Beck and Miami’s home-field advantage, but only marginally.”

CBS Sports: Two picks for Miami

Chris Hummer: Miami 28, Notre Dame 27
Brad Crawford: Miami 23, Notre Dame 20
