Barcelona still without enough margin to register players; small guarantee to be executed

Barcelona’s financial situation continues to cause complications, and according to Jijantes, the club still does not have enough room within La Liga’s salary cap to register all its new players. 

Despite several departures and sales this summer, the wage margin has not been freed up enough.

Because of this, the club is now set to execute a small guarantee that will allow them to move forward with registrations. 

This step will be used to register goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, defender Gerard Martin, and young winger Roony Bardghji. 

By taking this route, Barcelona will avoid waiting until the last minute or depending on additional revenue streams such as the sale of VIP seats.

Many expected that with Inaki Pena’s departure to Elche, Szczęsny would have already been officially registered, but the numbers have not worked out. 

The Polish international is still waiting to be added to the squad list.

What about Martin and Bardghji?

The case of Gerard Martin is particularly urgent. The defender recently signed a new deal until 2028, but since he is already over 23 years old, La Liga rules mean he can no longer be registered with Barça Atletic. 

He must hold a first-team spot, which requires immediate registration.

As for Bardghji, Barcelona want to ensure that he is officially tied to the first team. Registering him with the reserves could create obstacles with La Liga, especially with president Javier Tebas’ strict approach. 

For months, Barcelona have considered the possibility of Joan Laporta and the board issuing a guarantee to finalise these registrations. 

Now, it appears that this plan will be carried out so the club can move ahead without further delays.

Even with recent sales, the reality is that there is still not enough financial margin to register Szczęsny, Martin, and Bardghji without this solution.
