FOX and YouTube TV have agreed to end their carriage dispute just in time for the 2025 College Football and NFL seasons. The two sides announced they agreed to a full deal to keep FOX channels on YouTube TV’s airwaves, one day after inking a short-term agreement to avoid disruption.

“We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal with Fox to keep their content on YouTube TV,” YouTube TV’s statement read. “This means that Fox channels, including the Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News, and Fox Sports, remain available, and football fans will not miss any of the action this weekend.”

Just days before Ohio State and Texas will kick off FOX’s college football season on Aug. 30, the television disagreement between the two parties took center stage. According to Austin Karp of SBJ, there was an “impasse” between FOX and YouTube TV regarding a potential deal between the two. This would have meant that channels such as FOX, FS1, and Big Ten Network would have been dropped from YouTube TV’s lineup.

“It wouldnt be football season with some sort of carriage impasse,” Karp said via X. “Fox and YouTube TV (Google) apparently at an impasse regarding a deal. Fox/FS1/BTN getting dropped would obviously be a big deal for NFL, MLB, college football fans.”

Fortunately, FOX and YouTube TV have agreed to a deal and FOX’s slate of football content over the next few months will be available on the streaming service. According to StreamTVInsider.com in April, YouTube TV currently boasts 9.4 million paying subscribers.

FOX is set to host one of Week 1’s best showdowns, as the Texas Longhorns travel up to Columbus to face the Ohio State Buckeyes. Big Noon Kickoff (FOX’s version of College GameDay), featuring Rob Stone, Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram, Brady Quinn and Urban Meyer will also be in town. Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, and Jenny Taft will have the call from inside the Shoe.

One day prior, the Baylor Bears will open their season in a massive non-conference matchup against the Auburn Tigers. A nice Friday night appetizer to the full Saturday slate, scheduled to be broadcast by Jason Benetti, Robert Griffin III and Alexa Landestoy on FOX.

FOX’s College Football Week 1 Slate:

“Our current agreement with Fox is approaching its renewal date and we are in active and ongoing negotiations to continue carrying their content,” YouTube TV said in a statement prior to the agreement. “Fox is asking for payments that are far higher than what partners with comparable content offerings receive. Our priority is to reach a deal that reflects the value of their content and is fair for both sides without passing on additional costs to our subscribers.”

”We are working diligently with the team at Fox to reach an agreement. We know this uncertainty is frustrating, and if Fox content becomes unavailable for an extended period of time, we will provide our members with a $10 credit.”

FOX’s college football season opens on Aug. 30, with its NFL slate opening one week later on Sept. 7. Some of FOX’s biggest week one games include Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ going up against the New York Jets (1:00 PM), the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns clashing in an AFC North rivalry matchup (1:00 PM) and the San Francisco 49ers against the Seattle Seahawks at 4:05 PM.

FOX’s National Football League Week 1 Slate:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons (Sept. 7 – 1:00 PM) FOX
  • Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns (Sept. 7 – 1:00 PM) FOX
  • New York Giants at Washington Commanders (Sept. 7 – 1:00 PM) FOX
  • Carolina Panthers at Jacksonville Jaguars (Sept. 7 – 1:00 PM) FOX
  • Tennessee Titans at Denver Broncos (Sept. 7 – 4:05 PM) FOX
  • San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (Sept. 7 – 4:05 PM) FOX

Once again, cooler heads have prevailed in yet another carriage dispute. Now, it’s time for football on YouTube TV.
