One of the great traditions prior to every college football season are the preseason bowl projections. There are bold predictions, dumb predictions and very few predictions that actually end up being correct when December rolls around, but it’s still fun to look through the various articles and see where your team is projected heading into the season.

The clock is ticking down and the Iowa Football season kicks off in less than 72 hours, which means it’s time to take one last look at the preseason projections before the real thing begins on Saturday with Albany coming to town. Iowa has appeared in 22 bowl games under Kirk Ferentz, including a streak of 12 straight bowl appearances dating back to the 2013 season. Last season, the Hawkeyes ended their year with a loss to Missouri in the Music City Bowl.

The Hawkeyes open the regular season on Saturday with a matchup against the FCS Albany Great Danes at Kinnick Stadium. Since 2016, Iowa is 13-0 against non-P4 opponents. Kickoff is set for 5:00pm CT on FS1.
