Tottenham Hotspur will not be allowed to sign Manchester City winger Savinho despite Spurs pushing hard for his signature.

According to Fabrizio Romano, City told Tottenham that the player will not move to North London, even if Spurs bid €70 million to secure his services.

Spurs are in the market for attacking reinforcement, with Dejan Kulusevski set to be sidelined for some time, and have identified Savinho as a replacement for the Swede.

However, Tottenham have faced a massive stumbling block with Man City refusing to budge.

The Brazilian is now set to miss out on a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lauded as ‘unbelievable’ by City boss Pep Guardiola, Savinho is an exciting wide playmaker, and his signing would have allowed Tottenham to shift Mohammed Kudus to his natural position in the middle.

A line-up of Brennan Johnson, Kudus, and Savinho would have been a fearsome force for any Premier League defence.

Unfortunately, Spurs will have to turn elsewhere for reinforcement before the summer window closes.

Who should Tottenham sign after missing out on Savinho?

Tottenham should consider a deadline week swoop for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kang-in Lee. He can shine as a winger or no. 10 under Spurs boss Thomas Frank.

Tottenham got an up-close view of what he can do when he speared in a shot to lead PSG’s comeback versus Spurs in the UEFA Super Cup final.

The South Korean star recorded six goals and created 16 big chances in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season. Spurs should be all over him.

Lee is an underrated creator who will seamlessly fill the void left by James Maddison and Kulusevski.

He could jump at the chance to play consistently for Spurs, a place where South Korean icon Son Heung-min remains an adored figure.

Tottenham can offer him playing time, and he can take his game to the next level. He has everything to be a world-class player, but needs a new stomping ground.
