Yankees expected to trade for star-studded trio ahead of MLB deadline

New York is going to go for it.

The New York Yankees have a lot of needs to potentially be answered before the MLB trade deadline.

And in a new article Thursday, ESPN's MLB insider Jeff Passan addressed the needs of the Yanks and many other teams.

Maybe the most interesting line in his entire breakdown was this: "The Yankees are not going to stop at one player this deadline. For all their strengths -- and there are plenty -- they have too many weaknesses to take half-measures."

He wrote that just after suggesting that the Yankees might trade for Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez, and Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo, and Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase.

If there was a scenario where New York came away with that trifecta, it'd be a massive win for the Yankees.

Third base is a black hole that needs fixing the most of anything now that Jazz Chisholm has moved back to second base.

The rotation has been crushed by injuries and could certainly use help.

The bullpen doesn't feel deep enough, and both Luke Weaver and Devin Williams have encountered various struggles.

If the three names mentioned above don't fit, there are plenty of players available at all three spots that New York will certainly check in on.

The Yankees might be prepared to take multiple big swings before the end of the month. Buckle up for a busy trading season in the Bronx.
